Energy consumption rises 4.8% in April and accumulates increase of 3.8% in the first four months of 2018

Consolidated free and captive electricity consumption (2,570.6 GWh) in Energisa Group’s concession areas recorded consecutive growth for the twelfth time in April 2018, rising by 4.8% over the same month last year. Industrial consumption, in turn, also rose for the eleventh month in a row. Industrial consumption remained positive in the month, rising by 7.6%. In terms of segments, the food segment, accounting for approximately 41% of the industrial sector served by Energisa Group and which has not experienced a contraction since July 2017, rose by 10.9%, driven by higher consumption in the concessions of EMS (+24.8%), ESS (+9.6%), EMT and ETO (+7.9%). Consequently, Energisa Group's captive and free electricity consumption (10,197.8 GWh) rose in the first four-month period of 2018, by 3.8% over the same period last year.
