Electricity consumption rises 5.6% in February for a cumulative increase of 4.4% in the first two months of 2018
After rising 3.3% in January, consolidated free and captive electricity consumption (2,490.6 GWh) in Energisa Groups concessions continued rising in February 2018, up by 5.6% over the same month last year. Consequently, captive and free electricity consumption (5,002.9 GWh) rose slightly in the first two months of 2018, by 4.4% over the same period last year.
Captive plus free energy consumption in the two months was strong in the North of Brazil, increasing by 6.6% in ETO's concession, and in the Midwest region, with growth of 5.2%, of which 6.4% was incurred by EMT and 3.5% by EMS.
