Electricity consumption rises 4.8% in November for a cumulative increase of 3.6% in the first 11 months of 2017

Consolidated electricity consumption (2,546.3 GWh) in Energisa Group’s concession areas rose by 4.8% in November 2017 compared with the same month last year. Including uninvoiced sales, consumption volume was 2,490.6 GWh, an increase of 4.2% over the same period the previous year.
The highest growth rates were seen in Midwest concession areas. Captive and free consumption increased by 10.4% in the EMT concession area, driven by higher temperatures.
Consumption rose by 5.6% in the EMS concession area. Captive and free industrial segment consumption saw the highest growth in the EMS concession area at 9.1%, buoyed by the food sector.
Sales growth of 3.4% at ETO was also driven by warmer temperatures in the region. Captive and free consumption growth at EMG was 3.6% and highest in the residential segment (+5.4%).
Our Northeast distribution businesses ("ESE", "EPB" and "EBO") recorded a 1.4% increase in consumption in November, affected by higher rainfall and milder temperatures in recent months compared with 2016.
in the first 11 months of 2017, Group captive and free electricity consumption (27,100.6 GWh) rose by 3.6% over the same period last year. Including uninvoiced sales, consumption volume was 27,032.4 GWh (+3.9%).
